We are not authorized to speak for Christian Science. We are not versed in its doctrines, but from what little we do know of them we are convinced that the critic's acquaintance with them is so distant that he is, to say the least, imprudent in affecting an intimate familiarity. Apparently he assumes that the doctrine of the influence of the mind and the will over matter is the basis of Christian Science. Now as a matter of fact the basis of Christian Science is faith in God, which after all was the basis of original Christianity.
