It was about the first of August, 1907, that I came to San Bernardino, to have some dental work done, having been troubled with toothache. Notwithstanding that I had been greatly benefited by Christian Science treatment, more than two years before, and had at intervals read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I did not seem able to overcome this present trouble. The dentist found it necessary to destroy a nerve, and as the treatment was very severe, my suffering was intense. Finding I could get no rest, day or night, I decided to call on a Christian Science practitioner. In the mean time my face had become swollen, there were serious complications, and the jaw-bone was said to be affected. I began to take Christian Science treatment, but the trouble did not yield satisfactorily. My fear became so great that I remained at the home of the practitioner, to be under her immediate care. Relief came to some extent, but the fear of bloodpoisoning then presented itself, and the pain again became very severe. It seemed to me that the whole body was becoming affected, and that all would soon be over. About this time the practitioner came into the room, and found me in what seemed to be a semiconscious state. She gave me treatment until I slept naturally, and when I awoke I felt perfectly harmonious. I went to a barber and got shaved, and attended church next day at Riverside. In a few days I had the dental work done, then returned to my home.

I have had no further trouble, and since this experience the truth has unfolded to me greatly, and given me great happiness and peace. I feel very thankful to God for His great love, and to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way.
