It is with a thankful heart that I give my testimony to what I have received through Christian Science. It was about nine years ago that I first heard of it, when my baby sister was restored to us from what was said to be the last stage of a serious throat trouble. A doctor worked faithfully for her till all medical means were exhausted; then he told my mother that he had done all he could. It was after this that they called a Christian Science practitioner, and in a few days the little one was eating anything she wanted. A few years after this, my brother's little girl was taken with a severe head trouble, and he took her to a Christian Science practitioner, although the doctor told him when he left that he would not get beyond the first station with his child alive. He did, however, get to the practitioner, who worked faithfully for the little girl, who seemed to be very near to death when the treatment began. I think it was not more than two weeks until she was as well as ever.
It would seem, however, that we all need to be brought to Truth in some way, for even after this I did not take up the study of Christian Science, as I was well and did not think I needed to live as it teaches, but I now thank God from the depth of my heart that I was brought to accept it, even through suffering. I began to feel ill, and kept growing worse, until a doctor told my husband that I had a terrible trouble which should have immediate medical attention. I was taken to Hattiesburg for medical treatment, and I was there until I was very low indeed physically, and I was almost a mental wreck. One morning I told my sister, who was with me at the time, that I was going to have Christian Science treatment, and if it did not cure me I would just die. I began to take treatment, and thank God I was perfectly healed in three weeks. I have had to call for help only two or three times since.
I cannot express my love and gratitude to our dear Leader, for her life has given us so much good, and something that no one can take away from us. There is not a day in which Christian Science cannot be used in our "daily walk and conversation," and I can see the need of the healing work on every side. I shall be glad to answer any inquiries as to my healing.
