This testimony comes from the depths of a mother's...
This testimony comes from the depths of a mother's heart, who wishes to testify to the healing power of Christian Science, and tell what it has done for her children. When we moved to this farm I was an entire stranger to Christian Science, but soon after, when three of my children were taken with chills and fever, I asked for Christian Science treatment for them, and they were healed, and we did not have to give them drugs.
In the latter part of January, with my five children, three men, and a thousand pounds of freight in a two-horse wagon, we started from town to the farm, and when about three miles from town my four-year-old boy fell out of the wagon, the hind wheel passing over his body. He was picked up seemingly lifeless; but one of the men was a student of Science and Health, and instead of returning to town for a surgeon I asked him to give the child treatment, and we proceeded home, nine miles away, over a rough road. For three or four days afterward the child did not play with the other children, but after that time no one could tell by his actions that he had been hurt, and every time that any one would ask him how he was getting along he would invariably say that he was all right.
Some wonderful demonstrations have been made here, which have caused inquiries about this new-old doctrine, and several copies of the Bible and Science and Health have found their way here. In more than one home has the dust been brushed off the Bible, and it is being read with more interest than ever before. In the last few months three families have come here in wagons over fifty miles for treatment, and some of them have been healed of maladies of twenty years' standing. I am studying Science and Health with the Bible, and am trying to learn more of this truth which Christ Jesus taught.
