In a book review which appeared in your issue of Sept. 22, an opinion is expressed that Christian Science cures are accomplished by suggestion. As this is altogether wrong and misleading, it calls for correction.

Much of the misunderstanding regarding Christian Science and its methods will be obviated if it is remembered that Christian Science stands for the religion of Jesus—no more, no less. It essays to accomplish its works in the same manner as that employed by the Master and his disciples; namely, a spiritual understanding of God, and an intelligent application of His laws. Christian Science has absolutely nothing in common with hypnotism, suggestion, mental science, new thought, or any other method of the human mind.

This Science relies wholly on the divine Mind for the healing of the sick and sinful, and its success in making healthful Christians goes to show that its belief is the kind that Jesus said would be accompanied with signs following.
