In love and thankfulness to God, I wish to acknowledge...
In love and thankfulness to God, I wish to acknowledge some of the many benefits I have received from Christian Science. It healed me of a fever when my life was despaired of, and later of a distressing headache and all its accompanying ills, from which I had suffered all my life. I sought help from many physicians, who attributed the head trouble to everything from the stomach to a tumor on the brain, but I received no help till I turned to the truth which gave me light for darkness and love for hate. I have had many difficult problems to solve, and have passed through dark places of fear, but with the light of Christian Science I have always been able to see my way. A few years ago, my entire face, neck, left arm and hand were terribly burned by an explosion of gas. By applying the understanding of Truth and Love, they were healed without a scar.
That I have been able to demonstrate this truth is due wholly to the example and teaching which have always shown me the way. May divine Love help me to lead such a life that I may add one jewel to Mrs. Eddy's heavenly crown and be worthy to be called a Christian Scientist.—Mary Hooper Prindiville, Chicago, Ill.
As I have read a good many testimonies published in the Sentinel and Journal, and have found them very interesting, I resolved to write my own experience. I am a member of the dental profession, and like so many dentists, in the course of years I got run down till I was a physical wreck. I then consulted a physician and was drugged to the limit. At length I was ready for Christian Science, and through the aid of a practitioner I was restored to a normal condition. I certainly could not describe the happiness thus gained—it was heaven all about me.
