When I think of my present happiness, and then go back...
When I think of my present happiness, and then go back in memory to the days before I knew about Christian Science, I am indeed grateful to God; and I feel that I must express my gratitude, hoping that it may help some one who is finding existence as dreary as it once seemed to me. I was striving to find happiness even before I knew about Christian Science, and I thought there could be none except that which came through personality; but like all who worship false gods, I found myself daily growing more dissatisfied. I even tried Christian Science, hoping it would adjust my problems according to the way I thought they ought to be adjusted, not knowing that divine Love could give me greater happiness than I could conceive. After repeated failures and disappointments, and through the help of a Christian Science practitioner and the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was brought out of darkness into the light of Truth and Love, and in place of worry and grief I found peace and joy in the understanding of God.
I particularly rejoice in my daily increasing gratitude and love for our beloved Leader.
Elizabeth Doyle, Boston, Mass.
