In humility and with a heart hungering for more light...
In humility and with a heart hungering for more light I thank God for all the blessings that have come to me and mine through Christian Science, and for the awakening which comes daily as the truth unfolds. I first became interested through the healing of my aunt, who had been suffering from very serious throat and rheumatic trouble. I then began the study of our priceless text-book, and found in its teachings relief not only from physical suffering but from a sorrow which seemed well-nigh unbearable. This truth also replaced gloom and a dread to begin each day with a sense of confidence and peace. With the help of a kind practitioner heart trouble and severe headaches—which were supposed to be hereditary and for which I had medical treatment for over years—have been overcome. For the many helpful articles in the Sentinel I am deeply grateful.
It is impossible to express in words my gratitude to our dear Leader for bringing us this practical apprehension of the Christ-truth which emancipates from sin and sickness all who are willing to listen to its message and live according to its teaching. I am humbly striving to "follow and rejoice" (Miscellaneous Writings," p. 398). If at times the way seems rough. I know that when we are patient and earnestly seek Truth, He leads us on.
