To Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I owe endless gratitude. Her teachings have brought health, happiness, and spiritual enlightenment to our home, and have been a revelation and a joy to me. It is now almost five years since I was healed of chronic bowel trouble, after having been treated in three different cities by conscientious physicians, the last of whom gave me no hope for an immediate recovery, but thought that by careful diet exercise I might improve, and in two or three years be well. Being thoroughly discouraged, I sought Christian Science treatment, and the healing came about so quickly that I knew it was of God.

My few visits to the practitioner awakened me to a new meaning of health, Life, God. All sense of discouragement, fear of continued illness and weakness, fled. Having found the truth, it held for me a precious promise, and I longed to know more of this healing power. Many passages of the Bible were explained that before had no meaning, although I had been a church member for many years. In studying Science and Health it was found to be indeed a "Key to the Scriptures," so that the mental uplifting was wonderful. When a dear baby came to us, about a year ago, my husband and I demonstrated Truth's power over material conditions to such a degree that the birth was easy and almost painless. We so detached "mortal thought from its material conceptions" (Science and Health, p. 463). that the birth was natural and safe, without any aid from materia medica.

The Sentinel, Journal, and Lesson-Sermons are welcome helps in our home, and we are thankful for the sweet messages they bring. It is with gratitude and love to our dear Leader, through whom we have come to understand something of God's allness, that I write this testimony. The greatest blessing we have received through our allegiance to Mrs. Eddy's teachings has come by helping others who were weary and heavy laden to find rest and peace.
