It is with joy and unbounded gratitude that I testify...
It is with joy and unbounded gratitude that I testify to the blessings and help received through Christian Science. It is fitting that we should tell of the benefits we have received, that others may profit thereby. I might say that all I am and have I owe to the understanding of Christian Science. Although reared by Christian parents (my father having been a minister for forty years), and taught to love God and the Bible, I was afflicted in childhood with a severe and complicated eye trouble, which seemingly prevented me from obtaining an education. At the age of sixteen I entered the normal school, but was obliged to withdraw soon after on account of a recurrence of the same trouble, which seemed to be but temporarily relieved by specialists.
In a very perturbed state of mind, when the billows tossed the highest and I knew not which way to turn. I was led unawares to a Christian Science home. For the first time in my life I heard of the wondrous truths revealed in Christian Science. Such a logical and substantial religion appealed to me from the beginning, and I decided to take treatment. I was healed, went back to school, graduated, and have been immune from the trouble ever since. A severe case of blood-poisoning has been met, and numerous other ailments which have presented themselves have been destroyed, for Christian Science heals daily.
Our whole family has been benefited by this truth. I love Mrs. Eddy for my deliverance from physical bondage, and this alone is ample cause for immeasurable gratitude, but the spiritual unfoldment—the peace and harmony, the desire for a purer life which the understanding of Christian Science gives—is infinitely greater than all else. For all these blessings I give thanks unspeakable to God.
