I wish I could express what I owe to this saving truth

I wish I could express what I owe to this saving truth. I was called out of the city two months ago, was away two days, and without any warning was taken ill with lung trouble. I was so full of fear that it was an hour before I could realize the truth for myself. I do not think I would have had quite so much fear had I not been a trained nurse before coming into Christian Science, but I knew that the fear must be overcome with truth, and these words from the Bible came to me: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." I also went to Science and Health for help, and held to the truth taught therein, and by midnight the fear was about met. Then I went to work to destroy the error. I held to the statement that "every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind" (Science and Health, p. 151), and went to sleep about daylight. In the morning I got up, dressed myself, and went about my duties. I was very glad that with the little understanding of God which I had I could do the work myself. This is only one of the blessings I have received in Christian Science.
