CLERK'S REPORT
Beloved Brethren:—Since our meeting a year ago, the work of Christian Science has gone steadily onward: multitudes have been helped and healed of all manner of diseases, the momentum of sin has been lessened, and mankind redeemed by the understanding that God is Love and Truth. This realization demonstrated heals all diseases. Each year of obedience to the commands of Jesus to preach the gospel and to heal the sick adds to the everincreasing impetus of Christian Science and to the destruction of evil.
Time has proved that the best growth in Christian Science is that which has been attained by solid formation. Each member of this Church should be so earnest in this labor that he becomes an active working part of the machinery, so to speak, working joyfully in unison with all other parts. A machine made up of useless parts is heavy and cumbersome, and lacks effectiveness in ensemble. In organizations of different kinds there are weaknesses which, although not apparent on the surface, tend to lessen the efficacy of definite purpose. One of the largest causes of this effect is that many persons take the position that they are contributing, or associate, members and not active workers. Each member of this Church should be as a candle, never under a bushel, but constantly reflecting the light and the peace of divine Love. He should keep the unexcelled example of Jesus constantly before him in his labors to teach humanity the power of ever-present salvation.
At moments when the things of the world have come as an obsession and would darken the spiritual patl way. we have found strength and encouragement in the words of our Leader's hymn:—
