Three years ago I seemed to be a mental wreck and without hope. The one dearest to me said that perhaps God was punishing me in order to make me a better Christian, but I had gotten to where I hated the mention of the word God, as I was sure He was far from being a loving Father. In my distress I appealed to Christian Science for help, and there I found God to be true and loving and always ready to help me through each problem that came to me.
I did not become interested in Christian Science through physical healing, but I can to-day bear witness to the fact that this Science is a help physically, mentally, and spiritually, as there have been a number of instances of physical healing in my family. A serious case of fever was entirely healed in a few days; severe headache has been instantaneously healed, when under materia medica the would suffer for several days, while a case that had been under the care of the best physicians for three years was healed in less than a week. I was myself healed of supposedly hereditary lung trouble, for which my physician had prescribed a change of climate. I never had special treatment for this disease, but it has passed away. Since I have been studying the Bible and Science and Health I have come into the realization that I am living in the atmosphere of Love, God. I know Christian Science can and does destroy the belief of limitation; I know, too, the wonderful power of Truth, and rejoice in the proof I have seen in this direction.
Words can never express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, for all the good that has come to me. The help I have received spiritually has exceeded my expectations, and my great desire is to do and to be good.—Mrs. Callie J. Houston, Tex.
