In the latter part of January my husband was taken ill with serious rheumatic trouble. The suffering was very severe; he could neither walk nor move, and suffered terribly when we touched him. He lost his sleep and his appetite. We immediately called in a physician, but my husband refused to take the prescribed medicine, fearing it might affect his heart. We, however, left no home remedy untried, but all to no avail.

Four weeks passed, and his condition was growing worse, when an acquaintance told us of Christian Science. She told us how she had been helped by it, but at first my husband would not listen. He said he had prayed earnestly to God, and yet his disease had become worse; but after another sleepless night he said that we would leave nothing untried, and he would therefore turn to Christian Science. I went immediately to a practitioner and asked for treatment. The lady treated him, and when I returned home my husband said he was greatly relieved — the pain almost entirely gone. Two days later he got up and walked about the room. A week later he went to the practitioner for present treatment. He enjoyed his meals, and could sleep again. He made daily progress and grew stronger, for he had lost so much flesh that our acquaintances hardly recognized him. About Easter he was so well that we could travel to the Harz mountains, and he enjoyed the trip.

I can hardly explain the sad condition in which my husband was, nor describe the happiness we feel for having found Christian Science, which heals all our diseases.
