LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

Rutherford College,
Burke County, N. C., April 13, 1907.

Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Concord, N. H.

Dear Mrs. Eddy:—I beg to acknowledge, with personal thanks and expressions of the gratitude of the entire community, your esteemed favor of recent date, with enclosure of your check for two hundred and fifty dollars for the Carnegie Free Library of Rutherford College. I beg to apologize for the delay in acknowledging this magnificent liberality on your part, as I wished to await a meeting of our town commissioners to acquaint them with the donation. They join me in expressing their great appreciation of this gift, and assure you that your goodness in this matter will never be forgotten by the town officials nor the citizens.
