"THE LORD REIGNETH"

During the past two weeks Christian Scientists have been much discussed by the newspapers, and we are glad to see that they have refrained from taking part in the exploitations of sensational journalism which so largely assume to forestall or even supplant our judicial system. When the aid of a court has been invoked in any matter, the only proper time and place for the discussion of the persons involved and the issues to be determined is in the properly constituted tribunal voluntarily selected by the parties who have alleged that the intervention of a court is necessary.

We have seen no evidence that Christian Scientists, individually or as a body, intend to depart from the well-settled rules of decorum which have marked their conduct heretofore, and which should be especially observed by all good citizens in matters relating to the administration of justice. The court will do what is right in the matter now pending, and our people need not be disturbed about the outcome. God is ruling His universe, and truth and justice will prevail on this occasion as on all others.

Archibald McLellan.
