I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. It has saved me from a drunkard's grave; it has cured me of the tobacco habit, which seemed to have a very strong hold upon me; it has cured me of using profane language, in which I indulged so much at times that my wife made the remark that I would soon have to be put in an asylum. I came into Christian Science through my wife, who had been doctoring for several years and with no success. She was advised to try Christian Science, and went to see a practitioner. As she did not understand English, I went with her to save her from possible fraud; but insteed of finding evil, the good seed was sown in me. My wife did not take an active interest in Christian Science, but she has been relieved of most of her trouble by my reading to her at home, and the truth has done exactly what that kind lady told me it would do. My own healing has been seemingly slow, but I was almost blind to the truth. I thank God that the truth could be revealed to us through our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I do not know how to express my gratitude for the little book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," also for "Miscellaneous Writings," and the rest of our Leader's works. Almost all that I know I have learned since I came into Christian Science. I wish to say further that the Sentinel, Journal, and the Quarterly Bible Lessons are food to me. I give this testimony to acknowledge the truth of Christian Science.
