Referring to our critics' endeavor to test the power of...
New Haven (Conn.) Union
Referring to our critics' endeavor to test the power of Christian Science healing by seeing a so-called miracle performed, we can only say that if any one desires a proof that Christian Science can heal any or all diseases of mankind, even so-called incurable diseases, the opportunity is given to all to gain the spiritual understanding of Mrs. Eddy's teachings, the application of which enables one to destroy all manner of evil and to bring to light the truth of man's being, wherein man has dominion over all the earth. But the spirit of humility, honesty, and unbiased Christian thought must accompany every effort for scientific demonstration, and with this honest purpose the student will have the witness within himself that Christian Science heals both sickness and sin. The proof of the truth of the Christian Science doctrine is available to any one who will take up the cross and through self-denial practise the rule of Christian living as demonstrated by Christ Jesus. No amount of adverse criticism or unfriendly argument can overthrow the evidence of the practicability of Christian Science as witnessesd in the lives of its followers, who are daily proving its power to heal sickness, destroy sin, and overcome all discord.
