I give my testimony with great pleasure and a very thankful heart, that others may know what Christian Science has done for me. I tried Christian Science treatment several years ago, but did not seem to be benefited. Four years ago, after having suddenly lost my mother and father and having met with financial troubles. I had a severe fever, and was in a hospital for weeks. I went to Gorham, N. H., with my sister and family, thinking the mountain air would benefit me, but my physician thought the altitude was too high and advised me to leave. I then went to Washington, and took treatment for three months from a prominent physician, but his treatment only relieved me temporarily.
In August, 1904, I had a slight return of fever, and took treatment from a doctor for several weeks. Later I joined my sister in Iowa, and was in miserable health all winter. I was again under medical treatment, but was not helped. In March, 1905, I expressed a desire to try Christian Science treatment. We were then almost strangers in Iowa, and I did not know where to find a practitioner, but divine Love led me to one, and through her spiritual understanding of Truth I was healed in five weeks. I had worn glasses eight years for serious eye and nerve troubles, but after the third treatment they were put aside. I feel that I can never be thankful enough to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for what Christian Science has done for me. Not only am I thankful for the physical healing, but also for the spiritual uplifting. I love to remember that God is Mind, and not limited, and that God is Love.—Sallie Stansifer, Cedar Rapids, Ia.
