I wish to offer my testimony with loving gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. In the summer of 1897 I was taken with a fever, after which I suffered for six years with a nervous trouble and complication of diseases, till mentally and physically I was wretched. Several specialists were consulted, various kinds of medicines were tried, but all to no avail. My last hope, that I might try Christian Science treatment, was shattered on being told by some one that I could not be benefited as I did not believe in God. I groped in the darkness of despair until a friend told me how she had been saved from the grave by Christian Science treatment. This gave me new hope, and Sentinels and Journals were given me to read. Fnding the name and address of the nearest practitioner, I soon went to her, and a few hours later I left her house feeling as if I had never had a sick day in my life. I soon did work I had not been able to do for years, and with no discomfort.
While staying in town I arose one winter morning with an awful sense of pain. I said nothing and went to my work, but during the day my illness increased, and in the evening the lady of the house sent for a practitioner, who was soon at my bedside. In less than a half hour I was well. The next morning I awoke refreshed from a good night's sleep.
Christian Science has brought more to than mere physical healing. Words cannot express my gratitude for the spiritual awakening that came with the healing. Truly we owe our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, a life of endless gratitude for the revelation of this saving truth.
