Last October my attention was first called to Christian Science
Last October my attention was first called to Christian Science. A friend gave my daughter two copies of the Sentinel to read. She brought them to me, but I did not then think very favorably of Science, as I knew little about it. I suffered greatly at that time from stomach trouble. A Christian Science practitioner came to see me on the 9th of November. He read and explained to my daughter and me the second chapter of I Corinthians, and the eighth chapter of John, beginning with the twelfth verse, and showed the application of the teachings involved in these chapters to our cases. He gave no other treatment that day, but told us that the Word of God, rightly understood, would heal. From that first visit I have eaten anything I wished, and have never had one distressed spell with my old trouble. The same day my daughter was largely relieved of a very painful attack of an old ailment, from which she had been striving to get free for a long time, having employed several doctors. I am now seventy-one years of age, and from the time I was a child until this practitioner came, I had never been free from bowel trouble. With two weeks' treatment I was also completely cured of this trouble.
Words can never express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for what has been done for me. I never enjoyed reading my Bible as I have since I commenced the study of Christian Science.
Mrs. C. M. Wheeler, Leominster, Mass.
