I came to Christian Science nearly two years ago, seeking relief from deafness. I then knew nothing of the Science and only sought its benefit in a physical way, but it has enabled me to see that I was extremely selfish, suspicious, self-willed, and sinful. By absent treatment and the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I have been freed from many serious physical ills, and from jealously, hatred, suspiciousness, fault-finding, etc. I have never met a Christian Scientist, but have Science and Health, "Miscellaneous Writings," and several others of Mrs. Eddy's works, and have been able to prove my way by helping others. Here in East Texas Christian Science is the most effective remedy for chills that I have ever seen tried.
My spiritual blessings have so far exceeded the material benefits that I feel I must acknowledge them. Though one of the troubles has not yet been removed, that does not disturb me, and I can now see that my object at first in seeking relief was wholly selfish. As I learn more of the grand truths that are revealed in Science and Health, my love and respect for Mrs. Eddy become greater, for she has helped us to find our inheritance through her unselfish life-work.—Albert Stanford, Atlanta, Tex.
