The Congregational church was filled last evening [April 4] by those who desired to listen and learn of the "Evils of Christian Science" as promulgated by the pastor. The speaker was very pronounced in his views and backed his statements from the Bible. The Christian Scientists also take their doctrine and belief from the Bible, and it might be well for all who heard the discourse to withhold their verdict until they hear the other side of the question.

We do not believe, notwithstanding the aspersions cast upon the cult by this pastor, that any society which teaches us better living, purer morals, the upbuilding of the human race, and generally a higher plane of living, comes from the devil.—Wheaton (Ill.) Press.
