Some years ago I was compelled to visit an eye specialist

Some years ago I was compelled to visit an eye specialist. It was impossible for me to see to read or sew by lamplight, and after an examination it was pronounced a severe case of astigmatism. Glasses were ordered, and I was informed that I should always have to wear them. In the course of time I became interested in Christian Science and discarded my glasses, being full of zeal and earnestness, but I have since learned the profitable lesson of "making haste slowly." Last spring I felt that my eyes were not in a normal condition and it seemed as if I could not handle my own case. I struggled on for about two months and at last I found it necessary to have help. I could not distinguish one person from another on the street, could not read or sew, and was in great distress. The eyeballs seemed to be badly inflamed and there was a consequent depression of spirits; but now, I thank God He has revealed himself in Christian Science, and to-day I can see to read and sew, and that too at night. My demonstration was made in one week's treatment. All the inflammation and other trouble faded like mist before the sun, and every day I became stronger.

For this demonstration I feel deep gratitude to God, and for our Leader a reverence too deep for mere words. I only wish to be faithful and true to this sacred Cause.
