Another Minister Accepts Christian Science

Correspondence

AT the quarterly meeting of the local preachers, held in Paradise chapel. United Methodist Free Church, Darlington, England, Feb. 23, 1906, the subject of Christian Science was introduced.

The secretary, Frank L. Hastwell, who has been preaching in this circuit for twenty years, announced that he had accepted the tenets of Christian Science as taught by Mrs. Eddy, and he found it impossible to keep the truth it teaches out of his sermons. It had given him a better God, a present Christ in place of a far-off heaven, and he is gradually overcoming his false beliefs through this new-old understanding.

The teachings of Christian Science improved every text he handled, and as he had no wish to sail under false colors he took the opportunity of speaking with his brother preachers face to face and candidly telling them his views.
