Yesterday morning [March 7] Rev. Dr. Horton, the retiring president of the 11th National Conference of the Evangelical Free Churches of England, preached the opening sermon in the Central Hall, taking for his text "God is love," a passage of Scripture which, as he declared, "was the first text we learned as little children, and it is perhaps the last text we understand as men."

Dr. Horton somewhat startled his hearers by stating that one of the methods by which it could be tested was along the lines of Christian Science.
