My heart is filled with gratitude and praise to God for sending us Christian Science, through Mrs. Eddy. It awakens humanity to the truths which Jesus taught and practised, and over which the world had nearly lulled itself to sleep while waiting until after death for the promised full salvation. Christian Science teaches and proves that the Saviour is with us now and always, as of old; with power from on high the truth purifies and heals mind and body alike. When I first heard of this truth, four years ago, I was filled with happiness to find that God is not the author of discord and disease. It seemed too good to be true, until promptly proved by the immediate healing of my seven-months-old baby of severe vomiting, which had continued ever since receiving a bad knock on the head a week previous. I then threw away all our medicine, and determined to rely on God alone, for I knew He could and would be our healer, and that evil must disappear in His presence.

As one who was for years considered delicate, always taking medicines, and who was ill at least once a year, it is wonderful to be able to say that I have not spent a day in bed for four years; and each year I am better morally and physically than the previous. I know it is because I have learned that God is our physician that old weaknesses, including a chronic relaxed throat, have gradually slipped away like forgotten dreams. The children have been healed by Christian Science of measles, croup, dysentery, constipation, burns, etc. Now, when any symptoms of disease appear, they are promptly met by the truth.

I am indeed thankful for these blessings, but above all is the spiritual help and encouragement that has come both in big trials and little ones. I know this help always will come until all discord, hate, impurity, and fear is overcome, and I awake in His likeness.
