I am indeed thankful for even the small knowledge I have of Christian Science; it has often helped me to see the unreality of evil in many ways. When I first heard of Christian Science, no matter what seemingly went wrong I always asked help from the nearest Scientist. I left Ireland fifteen months ago, and shortly after I arrived here my child was taken very ill. I knew of only one Christian Scientist in Cape Town, and I was living about three miles out. The little one seemed so ill I could not take her in the train, so my husband and I walked in with her to look for help. When we got to the public gardens I sat on a seat, while my husband went on. I was alarmed at being left alone with the child, who was only two years old, but the thought came to me that God would give the help we needed. I got up and went to meet my husband and I was not disappointed to find him alone, as I knew at this time I could help my child. I did so at once, and when the Scientist came next day the little one was better. Divine Love had met our need. I have also overcome ailments such as nervousness, depression, sorrow, through the understanding that God is all. These are only small proofs of God's care over all who seek His help, believing that they shall receive. I hope I may be able to express something of the love I have for God, for Mrs. Eddy, and for all mankind.
