The Doubter

[THE following verses were sent to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and she has enjoyed them so much that she desires the readers of the Sentinel to share in this enjoyment.—EDITOR.]

A DOUBTER there was, and he went his way
With a heart grown bitter and sore,
And he wandered along through the night and day
Till he traveled the wide world o'er;
And the joys he knew were fleeting and few,
Till he wanted them all no more.

At last he came to a garden green
Where the trees and the plants grew wild,
And its grandeur was greater than all he had seen,
And a Woman stood there and smiled.
So he looked at her face, with its goodness and grace,
And its beauty so loving and mild.
