One of the most attractive features of the teachings of Christian Science is that it has no specialties or specialists; no particular persons set apart to heal the sick or to preach the gospel. It is part of the teaching of Christian Science that each student, or follower, shall gain a demonstrable understanding of the subject. In proportion to his understanding, every true Christian Scientist is qualified to preach the gospel and heal the sick, in the name and after the manner of the teaching of Jesus Christ, who said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." The purpose of Christian Science is to help the human race physically, mentally, and morally; on the assumption that the method of healing practised by Jesus Christ is possible to this age.
