It is with a heart filled with gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy...

It is with a heart filled with gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, that I send this statement of what Christian Science has done for me, hoping thereby to be the humble means of leading some suffering mortal into the light, as I have been led to it. During ten years of semi-invalidism and suffering, I had refused to have anything to do with medicine or doctor, but resigned myself to what I then supposed to be God's will. In December, 1904, my neighbors and friends had given me up. It seemed as if there was not a sound organ in my body. My case had been diagnosed by doctors at consumption and dropsy, with attendant ailments. One day, after vainly trying to get me to take medicine, a neighbor advised me to try Christian Science. The name seemed to fill me with new hope, so I consented to try it. After three days' treatment, I told the Scientist that he was doing me no good, as I felt no better. As he went out of the room, it seemed that all hope vanished; God seemed farther off than ever.

After a troubled sleep of a few hours, I awoke much improved, and relieved in mind as well as body. I also awoke to the realization that God is omnipotent Life, Truth, and Love, which the Scientist had so patiently tried to instill into my dull perception. Under this treatment I have continued to improve, until I consider myself a well woman except for a few minor ailments, and I know that what God has begun He will certainly complete.

While the physical healing has been wonderful, it is as nothing compared to the spiritual regeneration of my thought, which I know will be continually renewed, day by day, until I awake in His likeness. I have been enabled to overcome many troubles for myself and family, for which I am sincerely thankful.
