Among the first lessons learned by the Christian Scientist...

Among the first lessons learned by the Christian Scientist is this—that he must follow implicitly and intelligently the teachings of Jesus. Among these teachings he finds great prominence given to the command to heal the sick, and in the daily life of the Master precept is enforced by marvelous example. As proof that Christian Scientists have understood and do follow this command, it is noticeable that in no other Church do we find so large a number of persons who come (often as a last resource) for deliverance from heavy burdens of sickness as well as of sin. The true Christian Scientist must lead a life of unceasing prayer, knowing that it is demanded of him that he heal the sick as well as render other deeds of kindness.
