About the year 1885 I began to have medical treatment...
About the year 1885 I began to have medical treatment for a stomach trouble which the doctor diagnosed as ulceration of the stomach. In 1893 I consulted a prominent physician, who gave me a thorough examination, after which he declined to treat the case, saying that it was incurable. In 1894 another doctor said I was incurable, and that my only relief would be in a climate of even temperature. In December, 1900, an operation was performed which the doctor said would cure me; but I was not cured by it, and continued medical treatment.
In all, up to October, 1902, I had been under medical treatment for about eighteen years, and was treated by thirteen different doctors.
In July, 1903, I began Christian Science treatment, continued it for less than three months, and was completely healed. Since then I have been in perfect health, eating everything I desired. My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded.—Mrs. Rachel Barrett Taylor, Joliet, III.
