Letters to our Leader

Portland, Ore., October 9, 1905.

Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Concord, N. H.

Beloved Leader:— I desire to express to you the special praise and gratitude I felt to God, when reading your article, "Watching versus Watching Out," for it not only embodied within itself answers to questions that had arisen, but it brought a wonderful illumination, and added strength to keep closer and more untiring vigil, lest I enter into temptation. While I do not begin to conceive the full import of this message of wisdom, yet a profound sense of gratitude—requisite to fuller comprehension—struggles for expression, for this gleam of light, which if followed will lead to complete and perfect understanding.
