I first came to Christian Science in 1901
I first came to Christian Science in 1901. A friend gave me two copies of the Sentinel to read, and I became interested in the testimonies. I wrote to a practitioner for treatment, and received a kind letter, telling me many wonderful things of God that were new to me. She treated me, and I was healed of many ailments through her understanding of divine Love. She also told me that I must read Science and Health, but I had no money at hand to get it, and the rest of the family were very much opposed to what they thought Christian Science to be. I knew I need not look to them for any means, and I did not then know that the source of all supply is divine Mind. I was, however, led to a way by which I could get the book. I have been through deep waters and much darkness, but God has been very good to me, and I am indeed grateful for the truth that makes free. God bless Mrs. Eddy for her faithful work. — Rosie Rhoads, Arapahoe, Neb.
