The Lectures

The annual lecture under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Concord, was held last evening [October 29] in the beautiful edifice of that faith, the gift of the Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

The lecturer was Judge William G. Ewing of Chicago, and his audience completely filled the spacious auditorium, both upstairs and down. Among those present were dele-gations from Lancaster, Laconia, Lakeport, Manchester, South Newbury, and other New Hampshire points. A large party came from Boston, returning by special train at the conclusion of the lecture.

Rev. Irving C. Tomlinson, First Reader of the church, greeted the audience in the name of the Church and presented Mayor Charles R. Corning as the presiding officer. Mayor Corning spoke as follows:—
