I wish to acknowledge the benefits I have received from Christian Science. Before hearing of this teaching I was troubled with boils and took medicine continually for my blood, which the doctor said was out of order. I took everything he recommended, and then, finding myself no better but seemingly worse, I told him that I did not know what to do and he assured me that he could do no more. Shortly after this Christian Science was recommended, and I went to a practitioner, and in four treatments I was healed and advised to buy Science and Health and study it, which I did.
It did not take me long to find out that the trouble was not with my blood, but with my disposition. My mother said I was quite a different boy after being treated. Previously I was very quarrelsome and could not get on harmoniously with any one, but when I found that God is Love and that He does not afflict any one, my thought was changed and I manifested love instead of hatred and discontent.
Words cannot tell how happy I became, for everything and everybody seemed different. One of my brothers remarked to an inquirer a short time afterward, that I could not get along with any one before I knew of Christian Science, and that now, I "could get along with anybody." I found in Christian Science that It is Love that we need and not medicine, if anything seems to be wrong with us.
