With a deep sense of love and gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy,...
With a deep sense of love and gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the kind practitioners who have helped us. I shall try to tell what Christian Science has done for us. To enumerate all the manifold blessings we have received through Truth, would be impossible.
I became interested in the study of Christian Science through my mother's healing about fifteen months ago. She had been a sufferer for nearly five years with kidney trouble, nervous spasms of the stomach, sciatica, indigestion, and at last partial paralysis. She carried morphine with her continually toward the last, fearing a spasm of the stomach, which meant great suffering; but even this failed to help at times. She had been under the care of a number of physicians, but none seemed to know exactly what was the real trouble.
In a deplorable condition, with one foot in the grave as we might term it, Christian Science was presented to her by a kind Scientist. She at once grasped it as a lifeline; Science and Health was loaned to us the same day, and I immediately read to her. In less than twenty minutes her nervousness was all gone, and she felt much stronger. She then took treatment, and to-day is a well, strong woman. Her entire healing was a little slow, but she is more than grateful for this, as it has brought a wonderful spiritual uplifting.
