I wish to express through the pages of our periodicals...
I wish to express through the pages of our periodicals my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. My desire is daily to put off the "old man with his deeds" and to be governed by divine Love alone.
I will tell of a demonstration that was made in our family three years ago. My sister had an ailment called by materia medica, quinsy. She was allowed to choose for herself whether she would have a doctor or try Christian Science treatment. When she had been under the doctor's care in the past for the same trouble, she was often housed for three weeks or more, suffering greatly and taking powerful medicine; so she decided to give Christian Science a trial. A practitioner was notified, but it was not possible for her to come to us, as we were some miles out of town, so the treatments were all absent, nevertheless she was entirely free in one week's time, and what Mrs. Eddy says was also proven true: "Science can heal the sick who are absent from their healers, as well as those present, since space is no obstacle to Mind. Immortal Mind heals what eye hath not seen" (Science and Health, p. 179). She did not once glance at her throat, and was very grateful for the help.—G. N. L., Chicago, Ill.
