I was a very delicate child, never without headache, and the older I got the worse I grew. Finally the doctor said I had consumption and liver complaint. I was treated by different physicians for several years. Then I was afflicted with neuralgia of the head and jaws, from which I got no relief until I had all my teeth extracted. Next came chronic catarrh of the head and throat, and partial paralysis of the right side of the face. I spent sleepless nights. Half a cracker was all I could eat at a meal, and I was reduced to a mere skeleton. I was constantly under the influence of medicine. In this manner I passed the first forty-nine and a half years of my life. In February, 1890, I was taken with such violent stomach trouble that I was denied even a drink of water. I called my husband and two little boy to my bedside and bade them farewell. But God sent a messenger. A young man came in and told us of a lady who lived in Illinois who could heal sick people. We had never heard of Christian Science, but this lady treated me and I was healed through absent treatment. The third treatment I began to improve. I was healed of every trouble, even the corns on my feet were gone.
I thank God that I found Christian Science. It does me great good to study the lessons. I have been enabled to make some good demonstrations.
Before I was healed, I had to lie in bed two thirds of the time, but since I was healed I have not had to be in bed a day.
