Christian Science and the Children
The value of reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" to our little ones cannot be over-estimated. Though they may seem too young to understand what we read, it is surprising how soon the truth, which illumines its pages, is revealed to them.
I have read from our text-book to my children from their birth and now they appreciate its teachings as much as we of maturer years, for the one Mind governs the child as well as the adult and we all reflect the one Intelligence.
My oldest child, a little girl of four years, loves the book and likes to look at it, to turn its pages and to hold it. A short time ago she had a cold with a great deal of fever. That day I was very busy with work that had to be finished at a certain time, and it seemed to me that error was trying to prevent me from accomplishing what I ought to do. I had to give her several treatments, but I always try to teach the children to turn to God instead of trusting too much to me Toward afternoon her fever was much worse, so she brought Science and Health to me and asked me to read to her.
