In an issue of the Journal for 1955 appears a testimony relating my first healing in Christian Science which took place while I was yet in school. Since then I have had many proofs of God's loving care and protection.

One day I suffered an accident in the home which resulted in serious injuries. When the disturbance was over, I found myself sitting in a heap on the floor saying loudly, "God is my Life," and I certainly meant it with all the understanding I had. I could not move to go upstairs for the Bible and my copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, but I was able to pull myself into a chair and to telephone a Christian Scientist who lived nearby. She came over and got my books for me, but I decided it would be wise to call a practitioner.

There was a large lump on one side of my head, but in less than ten minutes after I called for help it had disappeared. Nervous shock also soon subsided, and I felt I could move about. I told my friend I was sure I would be all right; so she left. I was able to do what was needed the rest of the day, and I did not miss any time from work or church, although an ankle and my back bothered me a little while longer, perhaps a week, before they returned to normal.
