I wish to express my profound...

I wish to express my profound gratitude for Christian Science. About three years ago I had a stroke. In an instant I was helpless. My entire left side was paralyzed, including my leg and my arm. My speech was also affected.

I was taken to a hospital and placed under the care of a doctor. I remained in the hospital for a week, and while I was there my daughter was told that I would probably never walk again. I was removed to a nursing home, where I remained for five days, still paralyzed and under the care of a doctor. After a conference with my family, I was taken home. I was very glad to be home again, where it was so peaceful, restful, and harmonious.

That night I began to think of the many times I had studied the Lesson-Sermon, provided in the Quarterly, with my wife, who has been a student of Science for many years, and of the many lectures we had attended. I thought of the wonderful things that I had read in the Bible and in the Christian Science textbook by Mrs. Eddy, and of what I had learned of God and His goodness. I began to realize that man is the image and likeness of God, perfect and spiritual, and that everything is possible to God.
