My introduction to Christian Science...
My introduction to Christian Science came during my junior high school days. I was a pupil in an orthodox Sunday School, and I shall always be grateful for the love and patience the teachers expressed in attempting to answer my numerous questions about God. However, I could not seem to gain from their explanations a clear, practical understanding of what God really is.
A friend, learning of my earnest desire for this understanding, invited me to accompany her to the Christian Science Sunday School, in which she was enrolled. I did so, and during the first hour in that Sunday School class I knew I had found that which I was seeking.
My first healing in Christian Science was one of severe and chronic sinus trouble, which had regularly confined me to bed much of the time each fall and winter. This healing was instantaneous and was accomplished solely through my reading several pages of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader. It was the first time I had ever read the Christian Science textbook, and the logic therein seemed so irrefutable that I gained a joyous sense of dominion which completely and permanently eradicated the belief of sinus trouble.
