LESSONS FROM ANIMALS

[of Special Interest to Children]

Mrs. James lived in the country and had a very nice dog she called "Beagle." The wooded area nearby was a good place for Beagle to scamper about and have adventures.

One day Mrs. James discovered that Beagle had eaten a baby rabbit he had found in the woods. He was sternly scolded and told he must never, never do such a thing again!

Mrs. James then quietly turned to the truth, as we are taught to do in Christian Science when something disturbs us. She realized that God's ideas do not harm each other, but live together harmoniously. She remembered the Bible verse (Isa. 11:6), "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid: and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together." She also thought about what Mary Baker Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 514), "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible."
