Having been reared in Christian Science and having attended the Sunday School, I count it a blessing to have been taught at an early age to turn to God for help in the solving of every problem.

In later years I found it especially helpful in rearing our children. Among the conditions that has been overcome are so-called contagious diseases, effects of accidents, colds, and temper; some have been healed through my own work, while others were accomplished with the help of practitioners.

A particular instance stands out as a lesson learned in being still and listening for the voice of Truth. It was when our son, aged seven, was suffering with a painful ear trouble. Each time he cried out. I would repeat a truth to him aloud. When the condition did not yield, I prayed to have uncovered whatever needed correcting in my thinking. It occurred to me that instead of seeing the nothingness of matter, I was fighting it, putting myself on its level, and thus making a reality of it. Then the angel thought came to me, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Ps. 46:10).
