WE LIVE IN THE ETERNAL NOW

When Moses was called by God to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, he distrusted his ability to convince them that God had sent him. But God promised Moses the support of His ever-presence, saying (Ex. 3:12), "Certainly I will be with thee."

Still Moses was fearful and pressed for further assurance. The record goes on: "And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent, me unto you; and they shall say to me. What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

In this account God referred to Himself in the present tense. Since God is the I AM, the only real Life, we see that the only real existence is in the present or in the eternal now. As the idea or reflection of God, we actually live only in the everlasting present.
