THE IMPORTANT MAN IS THE PERFECT MAN

Occasionally one hears the remark, "He is an important man." This may prompt one to ask himself, "What makes man important?"

On page 492 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy states, "For right reasoning, there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence." Students of Christian Science learn that the fact of spiritual existence reveals the true man of importance.

This Science of the Scriptures teaches that God is Spirit, Soul, Mind, Principle, Love, Truth, and Life. In the record of spiritual creation, we read (Gen. 1:26), "God said. Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." Hence man, who is an idea in divine Mind, the manifestation of Life and Love, must be spiritual and perfect.
