Jesus ... coming to grant life abundant to men, suggested that they first of all seek the Kingdom of God, then all other things could be added.

If man is to live in a harmonious existence, then order is necessity. Virtue is love's order. Putting other things first results only in sadness and misery. This, therefore, was the condition of victorious living which he desired that none of his followers could forget. The proper order then is: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness."
