Christian Science was introduced...

Christian Science was introduced to me by my wife, and I took up the earnest study of this religion about four years ago. I have since had many blessings. The smoking habit of many years left me after I had spoken to a friend in the parking lot of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. He told me that God, divine Mind, is the only true stimulus, and this awakened my thought to the allness of God. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says on page 160 of Science and Health, "Unsupported by the faith reposed in it, the inanimate drug becomes powerless."

Recently I had more than ample proof of God's allness. More than a year ago it came to my notice that I was going to be laid off from the position I held. Immediately I sought the help of a Christian Science practitioner. She reminded me that all of God's ideas are always in their right place and that they are ever active. Therefore man can never be inactive or laid off. She then referred me to helpful passages, which I studied diligently, and I visited the Reading Room frequently.

I was led to apply for a position with the United States Forest Service. I made several other applications, but no position seemed as right as the one with the Forest Service; so I accepted it. Since then only good has come to us. My study at that time was most rewarding and uplifting. At no time was there any doubt that the application of Christian Science could supply our every need.
